How GST Calculator Works?
Calculate GST amount, CGST, SGST, and total amount for any goods or services under Indian GST rates.
Enter the amount (either the base price or the GST-inclusive price).
Select the applicable GST rate slab (5%, 12%, 18%, or 28%).
Choose the calculation type — GST Exclusive (add GST) or GST Inclusive (extract GST).
For exclusive calculation, the GST amount is added to the base price to get the total.
The GST is split equally into CGST and SGST for intra-state transactions.
Formula Used
GST Exclusive: GST Amount = Base Amount x (GST Rate / 100) | Total = Base Amount + GST Amount | GST Inclusive: Base Amount = Total / (1 + GST Rate / 100) | CGST = SGST = GST Amount / 2
CGST and SGST apply to intra-state (within same state) transactions. For inter-state transactions, IGST is levied at the full GST rate instead. Always verify the correct HSN/SAC code for the applicable GST slab.
